Lewis L. Bassett
WILLISTON, Vt. – Services for Lewis L. Bassett, 60, of Sundown drive, and employe of the Gamble – Yale Lumber company of Bridgeport, Conn., who died April 24 in Stratford, Conn., were conducted Monday in St. Patrick’s church, Milford, N.H. with a Mass of requiem. Burial was in Riverside cemetery there.
Born in Salisbury, N.H., Mr. Bassett had lived in Williston for two years. He was vice president of the Newbury Lumber corporation, Newbury, Vt., and member of many lumber organizations.
In addition he was a member of the Ethan Allen club of Burlington, Vt., and the Burlington Country club.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Rand Bassett; two daughters, Mrs. Alice Hayward of Milford, N.H. and Mrs. Doris Drury of Essex Junction, Vt.; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Lewis of Penacook, N.H.; a brother, Alfred Bassett of Raymond, N.H.; and seven grandchildren.

BASSETT – Died Friday evening in Bridgeport, Conn. Lewis L. Bassett, a resident of Sundown Drive, Williston, Vermont, former long-term resident of Milford. High Mass of requiem will take place Monday morning at 11 o’clock in St. Patrick’s Church, Milford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Milford. Friends may call at the Smith & Heald Funeral Home, 37 Elm St., Milford, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Family desires that those who wish may make contributions in his memory to the Heart Association.
