Jerald Bass, 65
Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin - Jerald Bass, 65, of Wisconsin Dells died Saturday, October 30, 2004, at his residence after a long illness.Jerry was born January 7, 1939, in Rewey, Wisconsin, the son of Guy and Florence (Austin) Bass. He graduated from high school in Belmont, Wisconsin. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. In September 1968, he married Doris Manson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They lived in South Dakota until the early 1970s and returned to Wisconsin, where they have lived in the Dells area for the past 16 years. Jerry worked at Christmas Mountain and Treasure Island. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and boating. His favorite pastimes were being with his grandkids and playing horseshoes. He enjoyed listening to Willie Nelson and Dwight Yoakum. Jerry wore many hats and the one he liked the best was his Grandpa hat.Jerry is survived by his wife, Doris; special friend, his dog, Bunky; daughter, Heather (Steve) Severson of Appleton, Wisconsin; grandchildren that lovingly called him Bobby for grandpa, Kaitlynn Lapp, and Bryanna and Brayden Severson; sister, Jean (Ed) Biddick of La Crosse; mother-in-law, Evelyn Fenne of Edgerton, Wisconsin; and special neighbors, Al and Shirley Holloway of Wisconsin Dells. He is further survived by a son, Scott; daughters, Becky and Pam; and other relatives and friends.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3, at 11 a.m. from the Picha Funeral Home in Lake Delton, Wisconsin. Burial will be at Butterfield Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Harold B. Larkin American Legion Post 187 of Wisconsin Dells. Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
