Ruie Marie Bass, 91, a life-long resident of Cornerstone, passed away March 15, 2019 in Pine Bluff.
Born Ruie Marie Galloway on November 9th, 1927, she was the daughter of Patrick C. and Ruie M. Galloway, of Cornerstone.
She was a graduate of Wabbaseka High School. During her life she was a member of the Civil Air Patrol, and worked over thirty years for Apollo-Lakewood, Inc. in Swan Lake, retiring as Office Manager. Known by most of her friends and neighbors as ?Miss Ruie,? she loved to give away pies, cookies and pecans. When able, Miss Ruie could be seen walking for exercise all over the community, maintaining her yard, or pedaling her stationary bike enough distance to circumnavigate the world twice.
She was a member of Altheimer First Baptist Church, having attended thirty years during which time she was able to attend Sunday School without absence for thirteen years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, G.W. Bass; her parents; and her brother Pat.
She is survived by her children, Pat Bass and wife Bernadette of San Antonio, TX and Patsy Kelley of White Hall; grandchildren Patrick Bass and wife Traci of Comanche, OK, Jason Kelley of Bella Vista, and Jennifer Dees and husband Daniel of Lockhart, TX; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and her sister Rose Hickerson, of Mena.
Visitation will be held from 5-7PM on Tuesday, March 19th. Funeral, to be officiated by Rev. Travis Thompson, will be held at 10:30AM Wednesday, March 20th, both at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Home in Pine Bluff
