      Newspaper Obit:Mrs. C.S. Painter died the Spokane Hospital July 4. She was a native ofIowa and was born October 1862 at Mt. Vernon.Mr. And Mrs. Painter came west in 1902 locating first at Hood River,Oregon and later came to Newport in 1912. Mrs. Painter was the motherof five children of whom four and her husband survive her. The childrenliving are Carl, Ola, Clarence, and Mrs. Thurman Smallwood. Her motherand sister live in Iowa.Internment in the Greenwood Cemetery.

      DEATH: Newspaper Obit: Mrs. C.S. Painter died the Spokane St. Luke's Hospital July 4. She was a native of Iowa and was born October 1862 at Mt. Vernon.Mr. And Mrs. Painter came west in 1902 locating first at Hood River,Oregon and later came to Newport in 1912. Mrs. Painter was the mother of five children of whom four and her husband survive her. The children living are Carl, Ola, Clarence, and Mrs. Thurman Smallwood. Her mother and sister live in Iowa. Internment in the Greenwood Cemetery.
