Hans Henriksen, 79, passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 1949 at the Annex hospital in Friendship, after a long illness.
Mr. Henriksen was born in Nakskor, Loland, Denmark, to Hans and Karen Henriksen on Sept. 12, 1870.
In early manhood he came to America to the farm of his uncle, Ole Oleson, north of Arkdale. Later, he bought the farm and with the exception of a few years spent in Canada, lived the remainder of his life here.
He married Carrie Bassett of Rushmore, Minn., on July 5, 1896.
To this union seven children were born, two of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, five children, Mrs. Lelia Graham of Strongs Prairie, Raymond of Arkdale, Neil and Norton of Wisconsin Rapids and Henry, Friendship.
Thirteen grand children and two great-grandchildren also survive. Three brothers, Ramsey of Anamosa, Iowa, Walter of Arkdale, and a twin brother, Harvey of Milwaukee and one sister, Christine Weylandt of Ontario, California.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Nov. 29, 1949 in the Arkdale Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. R. Johnson officiating. Burial was in Mt. Repose cemetery, Friendship.
