Anne Elizabeth Bassett
Anne Elizabeth Bassett, 61, died Saturday at Hospice Home of Northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne. Born in Garrett, she was a teacher in Fort Wayne Catholic schools for 24 years, teaching English and art at St. Vincent DePaul, St. John’s and Sacred Heart schools. She retired in 1984 as art director at Bishop Dwenger High School. Surviving are her husband, Franklin L. “Bud”; three daughters, Julianne Harter of Fort Wayne, Patricia Hensinger of Auburn, and Mary Caconochie of Clawson, Mich.; a son, Gregory Case of Fort Wayne; a stepdaughter, Christine Horsewood of Hoagland; two stepsons, Craig and Clay Bassett, both of Auburn; a brother, Bernard Drerup of Huntertown; a sister, Mary Ort of Evansville; 11 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ege, with prayers at 1:30 p.m. Calling after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sheets Funeral Home, Churubusco.
