BESSETTE, 71, of New River Road, a retired driver/salesman, died yesterday at the Landmark Medical Center, Woonsocket. He was the husband of Loretta F. (Dumais) Bessette. Born in Central Falls, he was a son of the late Aldei J. and Beatrice R. (Desmarais) Bessette. He lived in Central Falls most of his life. Mr. Bessette was employed by Nissen's Bakery for 25 years, retiring in 1981. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the Eugene T. Lefebvre VFW Post 1271, and Teamsters Local 64. Besides his wife, he leaves two sons, Mark D. Bessette of Central Falls and Wayne R. Bessette of Pawtucket; a daughter, Karen A. Bessette of Smithfield; three sisters, Claire LePalme of Attleboro, Lillian Letendre and Jeanne Thomas, both of Pawtucket, and three grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Alphonse, Charles, Joseph, Gerard and Raymond Bessette, Adrienne Lemay, Marie Yvonne Bessette, Therese Medeiros and Madeleine Jones. The funeral will be held Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in Notre Dame Church, Broad Street, Central Falls. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
