  Notes	Knoxville News-Sentinel Tennessee Sunday, February 25, 1945 Brother of Former Knox Man Freed Roland K. Bass, brother of Eugene D. Bass, who formerly lived at 2531 Woodbine Avenue, and now lives in Johnson City, was among civilian personnel freed in the Philippines by U.S. forces, the United Press reported yesterday. Mr. Bass hadn’t heard from his brother since 1942. Mrs. Leota Ross, who rented part of her home to Mr. and Mrs. Bass, said Eugene Bass, who was connected with the Home Owners Loan Corp. here, is now working at the Soldier’s Home in Johnson City.
