Norman K. Bassett
SANDOWN - Norman K. Bassett, 72, of 48 Fremont Road, died Sunday, Oct. 29, 2000, in Parkland Medical Center, Derry, following a lengthy illness.
He was born Jan. 25, 1928, in Sandown, the son of the late Raymond K. and Priscilla (Knights) Bassett, and had resided at I.H.S Derry, for the past year.
Mr. Bassett was employed by George A. Bassett's Dairy Farm in Fremont, Sandown Central School and the Woodbury Lane Mill, Sandown.
He attended St. Matthews United Methodist Church, Sandown, and was a member of the Sandown Civic Association and the Sixty Plus Club of Sandown.
He was an avid whist player.
He is survived by three sisters, Hazel Marlow and Eleanor Bassett, both of Sandown, and Martha Sargent of Springfield, Va.; 10 brothers, Charles Bassett of Newfields, Raymond Bassett of Boscawen, Donald Bassett of Northwood, Wendell Bassett of Epsom, William Bassett of Hilton Head, S.C., Richard Bassett of Alton, Kenneth Bassett of Sandown, David Bassett of East Hampstead, and Carroll Bassett and Irving Bassett, both of Sandown; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by one sister, Eva Phillips, and one brother, Robert Bassett.
Funeral services were held Wednesday in the Peabody Funeral Home, Sandown. Burial was in Center Cemetery, Sandown.
