Adessa Bassett
HICKSVILLE ? Mrs. Adessa Bassett, 57, 108 S. Main St., died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday in her sleep in Community Memorial Hospital.
She was ill 23 years and was a patient in various hospitals for the past three months.
She was born July 9, 1910 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Arthur and Olive (Ashley) Smith, and was married in 1926 to Delmar Miller. They lived in Sherwood and Hicksville before his death in 1941. She lived in Hicksville following her marriage to Gerald Bassett, who survives.
Mrs. Bassett was a member of the Hicksville Presbyterian Church and the United Presbyterian Women.
Other survivors are two sons, Norman Miller and Roger Miller, and a daughter, Mrs. Sharon Onstott, all of Hicksville; three sisters, Mrs. Mildred Hullinger, Fort Wayne; Mrs. Ruby Wilkins, Bronson, Mich., and Mrs. Olive Norrick, Bryan; a brother George Smith, Bryan, and seven grandchildren.
Services were this afternoon in the Presbyterian Church, the Rev. Leslie Miller officiating. Burial was in Sherwood cemetery. Perkins Reeb funeral home was in charge.
