Lowville Journal, Jan - Mar 1911 Castorland Death of Mrs. Joel Bassett of Pleura-Pneuomnia (Miss Ruth Beyer, Correspondent) Death has entered our midst and taken a beloved wife and mother, Mrs. Minnie Warner Bassett, who passed away Sunday at 4 p.m. of Pleura-pneumonia, after an illness of only one week, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. J. Linstruth. Mrs. Bassett was born at Albenburg, Germany, Oct. 5, 1855, and has passed nearly all of her life at Naumburg and Castorland. Mrs. Bassett is survived by her husband Joel Bassett and two daughters, Mrs. F. J. Linstruth and Mrs. I. H. Glenn, both of Castorland. The funeral was held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the house and 2 p.m. at the Baptist church, of which she was a devoted member. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
