      Marion Napper McAllister

      PLATTSBURGH - Marion Napper McAllister, 86, formerly of Burnt Hill in Saranac and Leonard Ave. in Plattsburgh, died Friday, July 21, 2000, at the Meadowbrook Health Care Facility.
      She was born in Cadyville on Oct. 31, 1913, the daughter of Charles and Luoise (Gonyea) Bassett.
      Marion was a graduate of Cadyville High School of 1933 and the Plattsburgh Norman School Class of 1936. She retired from teaching at Saranac Central School in 1972.
      She was married to Robert Napper from 1949, until his death in 1969. She was married to Wilmer McAllister from 1975, until his death in 1996.
      Marion was a member of the New York State Retired Teachers Association, Ladies of the Elks Plattsburgh Lodge 621, St. John's Church and the Rosary and Altar Society of St. John's.
      Marion is survived by a daughter, Carole O'Brien of Plattsburgh; a stepdaughter and her hsuband, Sylvia and Richard Morellis of Mechanisburg, Pa.; two granddaughters, Shannon Holley and her husband Jason of Ft. Riley, Kan. and Amanda Myers of Great Falls, Mont.; two stepgrandchildren, Sarah Morelli of Richmond, Cal. and David Morelli of Boulder, Colo.; three great-grandchildren, Duncan, Maeve and Jenna Holley of Ft. Riley, Kan.; two sisters, Dorothy Jessey of Plattsburgh and Reta LaBarge of Herkimer; and many nieces and nephews.
      Marion was a also predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Jesse Bssett, Julia Ryan and Frances Squires; and her brothers, Elmer, Leon, Lloyd and Charles Bassett.
      Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh. Members of the Rosary and Altar Society are asked to meet Tuesday at 3 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John's Church. Interment will be in the Saranac Independent Cemetery.
