Bassett, 87, of Saranac, who died at the Schus Nursing Home in Malone on December 8, 1967 were held on Monday, December 11, at Church of the Assumption in Redford. The Rev. Norman Poupore, pastor, celebrated the Requiem High Mass. Pallbearers were Leon Bassett, Charles Ledwith, James Carter, Harold Ryan and Lloyd Bassett. O?Neill-Redden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with the remains placed in the Assumption Cemetery Vault to await spring burial. Mr. Bassett was born in Saranac January 27, 1880 son of Newell and Cora (Spaulding) Bassett. He was a carpenter by trade and worked on construction during the greater portion of his lifetime. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Frank Morris of Clifton, N.J., Mrs. Vincent Stickle of Hyattsville, Md., Mrs. Wyath Schweers of Putnam Lane; two sisters, Mrs. Robert E. McKillip and Mrs. Philip J. Collins, both of Saranac Lake; and one brother, Charles Bassett of Baltimore, Md.
