  Notes	The Dallas Morning News, 9 Aug 1927 Mrs. Martha Bassett, Dallas Pioneer, Dies Mrs. Martha L. Bassett, 71, died at her home, 2451 Cedar Springs Road, at 10 o’clock Monday night. Mrs. Bassett was the widow of the late J.M. Bassett, superintendent of the Dallas Water Department and had resid Dallas for many years. She is survived by a brother, J.M. Preston of Dallas, two daughters, Mrs. Will H. Cullum and Mrs. Ira T. Moore of Dallas; three sons, Hugh Bassett of Wichita Falls, Sam Bassett of Houston, and Reveau Bassett of Dallas, and six grandchildren, Joh, Frank, Martha and Virginia Moore and Dorothy and Lillian Cullum.
