Lucille Belin
1929-2015
Lucille Belin, 85, of Punxsutawney, died on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Mulberry Square, Punxsutawney.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1929, in Kramer, Pa., the daughter of the late Percival A. and Adah D. (Bassett) Hockin.
On Nov. 17, 1950, she married Victor E. Belin, who survives.
She was a graduate of the Punxsutawney High School Class of 1948. She was employed by Montgomery Ward in Punxsutawney until it closed. She was a volunteer in the Med-Surg Unit of the Punxsutawney Area Hospital for 12 years.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Punxsutawney, where she served on Council, and as a lecturer and usher.
She was a former member of the Beta Sorority, and she belonged to the Grandmother's Club and two five-hundred card clubs.
She was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan. She loved to read and, most of all, loved walking and swimming.
She is survived by her husband; three sons, Philip Belin and wife Karen of Indiana, Pa., Mark Belin and wife Connie of Pottstown, Pa., and Christopher Belin and wife Connie, of Leechburg, Pa.; three daughters, Kristene Harvey of Wilcox, Pa., Marguarete DePriest and husband John of Louisville, Mississippi, and Kathleen Benson and husband Mark of Punxsutawney.
She is also survived by one brother, Kenneth Hockin of Winchester, Virginia; two sisters, Eleanor Nystrom of Indiana, Pa., and Suzanne Pierce of Ann Arbor, Michigan; 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney on Sunday, July 26, 2015, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 27, 2015, at the First English Lutheran Church in Punxsutawney, with the Rev. Maureen Selfried officiating.
Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
The family requests that donations in memory of Lucille be made to the First English Lutheran Church or to the Punxsutawney Memorial Library.
