James Alain Basset August 23, 1958 - June 22, 2012 It is with broken hearts that the family of James "Jim" Alain Basset of Peterson, Saskatchewan, announces his tragic and accidental death on Friday, June 22, 2012, in the Colonsay district. He was 54 years of age. James will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 34 years, Linda (nee Knihnitski) Basset of Peterson; their six children, and eight grandchildren (and soon to be 10): Bradley (Jody) Basset, Shelby, Carter and Trae of Peterson; Christie (Bryan) Beggs, Ethyn, Jackson and Hope of Colonsay, Saskatchewan; Lisa (Blaine) Weiman, Logan and Deakyn of Bruno, Saskatchewan; Carla (Yves) Beaulac of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan; Joseph Basset (Paige Fraser) of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and BreeAnne Basset of Peterson (Jim's little farm girl); special nephew and right- hand-man, Jesse Bentley of Viscount, Saskatchewan; his father, Joseph "Joe" Basset of Humboldt; and by his mother-in-law, Clara Knihnitski of Saskatoon. The Prayer Service for Jim will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at 7:30 p.m., and the Funeral Mass will be offered on Wednesday, June 27, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., celebrated by Father Joseph Ackerman, OSB. Both services will be held at St. Agnes R.C. Church, Peterson. Interment will follow at St. Agnes R.C. Cemetery, Peterson. To ensure there is room to accommodate all those who are wishing to pay their respects to the family, even if they are unable to be present at either of the services, memorial luncheons after both the Prayer Service and the Funeral Mass will be held at the Bruno Community Hall, Bruno, Saskatchewan. Memorial donations may be directed to the St. Agnes Parish Fund. Condolences to the family may be emailed to bbasset@sasktel.net.
