Bassett Mr. William George Bassett, who died a Mathinna Plains as the result of an accident, was born at Tunnel, where he spent most of his life farming. About 12 months ago he went to Ringarooma and engaged in log hauling. He leaves his wife, two sons, Laurie and Trevor, and three daughters ? Vonda, Dorothy and Wendy. The funeral at the Carr Villa cemetery was attended by relatives and many friends from Launceston and Ringarooma districts. Canon F.H. Lansdell conducted services at the funeral chapel and at the graveside. Chief mourners were the widow, son Laurie, daughters Vonda and Dorothy, Mrs. Alice Bassett (mother), Mr. and Mrs. H. Bassett, Mr. and Mrs. M. Bassett and Mr. and Mrs. S. Bassett (brothers and sisters-in-law), Mr. E. Bassett (brother), Mr. and Mrs. C. Raynor, Mr. and Mrs. G. Austin, and Mr. and Mrs. R Hatton (brothers-in-law and sisters), Mrs. G. Fitzgerald (sisters). Pall-bearers were Messrs. N. Hayes, Allan Butt, M. Binns and L. Barnett. Funeral arrangements were conducted by Finney and Sons.
