  Notes	The Fayetteville Observer, NC, Tuesday, February 27, 2001 Flossie Thornton Bass CLINTON -- Mrs. Flossie Thornton Bass, 88, of 2380 Wilson Road died Monday in Sampson Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bass was a retired homemaker. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Piney Grove Baptist Church by the Rev. Joel Story and Ferrell Miller. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Bass is survived by two sons, Glenn E. Bass and Norwood L. Bass, both of Clinton; two sisters, Alma Jackson of Salemburg and Rena Bradshaw of Faison; two brothers, Elston Thornton of Clinton and Oscar Thornton of Faison; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Crumpler-Honeycutt Funeral Home in Clinton. Memorials may be made to Piney Grove Baptist Church, 1818 McCullen Road, Faison, NC 28341.
