Ervin Bass
Funeral services for Ervin Bass, 45, of 901 Washington Street, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Glenn’s Grove Baptist Church on Guess Road. Conducting will be the Reverend T.C. Nicholson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He died Thursday in Duke Hospital after a brief illness.
He was a deliveryman for the Herald-Sun newspapers.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Virgie Bass of Durham; three daughters, Ms. Brenda Bass of Danville, Virginia, and Miss Wanda Bass and Miss Fontella Bass, both of Durham; two sons, Ervin Bass of Danville, Virginia, and Randy Bass of Durham; two brothers, Joe Louis Bass of Durham and John Thomas Bass of Baltimore, Maryland; and three sisters, Mrs. Frances Clayton of Rougemont, Mrs. Dorothy Thorpe of Durham and Mrs. Virgilene Nesmith of Rochester, New York.
The family will be at Ellis D. Jones Funeral Home chapel from 7 to 8 p.m. tonight and at other times at the home of his brother, Joe Louis Bass, at 911 Red Oak Avenue.
