Clarence Bass Jr.
Clarence Bass Jr., 78, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012.
Celebration of life services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Trinity Fellowship Church with El Cantu officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Clarence was born Feb. 8, 1934, in Kirkland and lived in Childress as a child. He moved with his family to Amarillo, where he attended Palo Duro High School. He lived most of his life in Amarillo. He worked for Panhandle Sand & Gravel for more than 45 years and Golden Spread Ready Mix for the past 13 years.
Clarence married Mary Johnice Wilson on June 21, 1958, in Amarillo. She died in 2010. He loved being a husband, dad and "PaPa." He was active in his children's activities, whatever they were doing. He loved to spend his time hunting, snow-skiing and working in the yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jeanette Tebow.
Survivors include two sons, Mike Bass and wife Wanda and Jason Bass, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Gina Henry and husband Derrick of Amarillo; seven grandchildren, Christian, Madison, JonBriton, Aaron, Reagan, Riley and Ryann; and a sister, Katherine Huckabay.
