Mrs. A.E. Bassett Dies At Hospital

Member of Prominent Local Family
Lifelong Resident of City
Mrs. Anne E. Bassett, widow of John E. Bassett, of 1287 Third Avenue, died late yesterday at the Samaritan Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Bassett, who was the former Anne E. Walsh, was a lifelong resident of Watervliet. She was a member of St. Bridget's Church, a member of the Rosary Society of the church and of Court Regina, C.D. of A.
Survivors include one son, John E. Bassett, Jr., two sisters, Miss Mary A. Walsh and Miss Nellie F. Walsh, both of Watervliet, a brother, Thomas M. Walsh, president of the National Bank of Watervliet; two grandchildren, Mrs. James D. Foley and Miss Anne E. Bassett, and four nieces, Mrs. John J. Sheehan of Troy and Mrs. William J. O'Connell, Mrs. James S. Sage and Miss Helen T. Walsh, all of Watervliet.
The funeral will be conducted Monday at 9 a.m. from the residence and at 9:30 a.m. from St. Bridget's Church where a solemn requiem Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
