Mr. Edmond Monroe Bass, 71
DURHAM -- Edmond Monroe Bass, 71, of 416 Denton St., Durham, departed this life on Wednesday, November 14, 2007, at Durham Regional Hospital. Mr. Bass was born 1936 in Rougemont.
Mr. Bass retired from Big Star Food Chain as assistant manager after 30 years of service and 10 years from Harris Teeter.
He leaves behind a loving wife of 40 years, Dovie Barbee Bass; their three daughters, Lynn Bass Hawkins (Marcus) of Morrisville, Sandy Bass Chambers (Junius 'J') of Raleigh and Lorie Donna Bass of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Alison and Justin Chambers; three brothers, Julius Bass (Myrtle), Eugene Bass (Angus) of Greensboro and Larry Bass (Joyce) of Raleigh; three sisters, Glovenuia Thomas (Jack) of Sparkhill, N.Y., Eunice Gist (Jimmie) of Charlotte and Regina Maultsby (Gus) of Rougemont; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services for Mr. Bass will be held on Saturday, November 17, at 1 p.m. at Community Baptist Church with visitation at noon.
