  Notes	Obituary for Victoria Kimball Victoria Bessette, 92, of Rapid City, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1993, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital from aspiration pneumonia due to an acute stroke. She was born on August 21, 1901 at Humboldt, S.D. to Edgard and Minnie (Tyrrell) Kimball. At the age of five, she moved with her family to Kansas City, Mo. She later moved to Sioux Falls to live with an older brother an dhis family and attended school there. While spending a summer vacationing with her family near Rapid City, she met and married a rancher, James Lee Bessette. The couple ranched north of Scenic on the 71 Table. They retired from ranching and moved to Rapid City in 1951, where they made their home, In 1985, they moved to a nursing home for health reasons. Victoria was a member of St. Therese The Little Flower Catholic Church, the Extension Club of of Scenic, Rapid City Arts Association, and was president of the resident association of Black Hills Retirement Center. Also, at one time, she was a member of the Kimball Family Association. She loved her family and friends, poetry, and animals. Her favorite pastime was painting. Services were held at St. Therese The Little Flower Catholic Church on November 16, 1993 with Father Daniel Jeulfs and Father Richard Platte officiating. Arrangements were made by Behrens Mortuary in Rapid City, S.D. Burial was held at the Scenic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials to Scenic Cemetery.
