Mr. Bass was born in Telogia and moved to Orange Heights from Gainesville in 1991. He was a retired supervisor for Dixie Lilly & Martha White. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Bass Hunting Group. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Harrison Bass of Orange Heights; sons Morgan Bennett Bass Jr. of Orange Heights, Johnny Bass and Danny Gabbard, both of Orange Heights, Dean Bass of Houston, Toy Bass of Hawthorne and Ray Bass of Gainesville; a sister, Mary Ruth Stefan of Tallahassee; brothers E.T. and Billy Bass, both of Tallahassee, and Ennis Bass of Crawfordville; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
