Bassett, son of Matthew and Catherine (Hammell) Bassett, was born circa 1871. He married Clara Shroyer on 10 Jul 1897. Ora O. Bassett, son of Matthew and Catherine (Hammell) Bassett, was born 29 Aug 1878. He married Lottie M. Weaver on 27 Feb 1907. Ray T. Bassett, son of Matthew and Catherine (Hammell) Bassett, was born 10 Jul 1885. He married Dora B. Eshelman on 4 Jan 1908. Lottie May Basset Obituary January 30, 1947 Lottie May Bassett, native of Noble County and practically a lifelong resident of the community, died at the home of her son, Lavon Bassett, at Kendallville from a heart attack. She was born January 4, 1880 to Eldon C. and Fidelia J. Weaver of near Cromwell. She was united in marriage April 19, 1902 with Arthur J. Borden, Jackson, Michigan, where they resided for two years when Mr. Borden died. She was united in marriage to Ora Bassett on Feburary 28, 1906. Born to this union were two sons, Harold, deceased, and Lavon; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Sturgis, Kendallville, Mrs. Wilma Owen, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. June Ross of this town, all of whom survive. A sister, Mrs. Jermoe F. Eulitt of Wolcottville, and nine grandchildren also survive. She was a member of the First Methodist Church. The funeral was Wednesday form the L.E. Berhalter & Son Funeral Home.
