      July 5, 1930 ? November 17, 2019

Edward Emory Bass, 89, Entrepreneur, Business Owner of Kirby Marina, and Co-founder of Bass & Meineke Auto Parts. He never retired and worked up until the day he peacefully returned to his eternal home on November 17, 2019.

Ed was born July 5, 1930, in Park Place in Houston, TX. It wasn't until 1944 that his family moved to Pasadena which is where he met his wife of 69 years, Sadie Elnora (Nogie) Storie Bass, and raised 3 children. Ed purchased a service station in the early 1950?s and met up with a man he went to high school with, Sam Meineke, who had also bought a service station. Together they combined their money and resources and started a company known as Bass and Meineke Auto Parts. Ed & Sam worked many long hours growing the company to multiple locations throughout the Houston area. After 17 years together, Sam ventured into the franchise business while Ed continued with Bass and Meineke and still has one location in Pasadena. In the early 1980?s, Ed purchased a marina in Freeport, TX, known as Kirby Marina, which he managed until the day he passed. Ed believed in moving forward and working hard and could always be found with his many note pads where he wrote all of his business thoughts and ideas.

Community-minded, Ed served on various board committees in the Pasadena area. He also sponsored scholarships for firefighters and as well as a boxing club called Golden Gloves Boxing for the youth of Pasadena, and surrounding areas.
Ed?s only love other than Nogie was fishing. It?s the one place he could go to relax and get his mind off business. He owned many boats throughout the years and preferred fresh and saltwater fishing over all other hobbies. Many will remember him as a very honest, humble man who always helped those that sought his advice.

Preceded in death Ed?s Father, Emory G. Bass, Mother, Thelma Matthews Bass, Son, Lonnie E. Bass, Grandaughter, April Bass.

Survived by his wife, Sadie Elnora (Nogie) Storie Bass, Son Cary Bass(Fran), children Brandon(Tina), Joshua(Magen), Ariel Schrader(Dylan). Daughter Dede Wright, Son Colton(Gretchen).
