  Notes	News and Observer Raleigh, North Carolina Friday, January 1, 1954 Willie M. Bass Clinton - Willie Martin Bass, 61, died at his home on Route 2, Newton Grove Thursday at 3:30 a.m. He was the son of Foscue Bass and Lou Barefoot Bass of Sampson County. Mr. Bass was a farmer of Terrings Township. He was a tobacconist and had been with Tally Brothers Tobacco Warehouse of Fuquay Springs for the past 20 years. Funeral services will be held at the Harnett Primitive Baptist Church Saturday at 3 o’clock with Elder Luther Tuner and the Reverend Millard Westboork officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Persis McLamb Bass; one son, Cleveland Bass of Newton Grove; one daughter, Mrs. Mina Grey Bass of Fayetteville; one sister, Mrs. W.B. Warren of Fayetteville; one granddaughter.
