John Henry Bass Is Buried In Roanoke
John Henry Bass, 68, retired farmer who lived near Roanoke on the LaFayette highway, passed away at 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, after a short stay in a local hospital. He was a prominent and highly respected citizen.
Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dora Kitchens Bass, of Roanoke, Route 4; and a brother, Young Bass, also of Roanoke, Rt. 4.
Funeral services were held at the home at 3 p.m. on Friday, March 26, with Rev. Henry Hurst and Rev. S.M. Penn officiating. Interment was in the Roanoke city cemetery, with Quattlebaum?s Funeral Home in charge.
