He was the owner and operator of Bass & Sons Welding Service, operating the business for 30 years. He was a member of Cheek Heights Baptist Church.Mr. Bass is survived by his wife of 49 years, Edna Ruth "Tootsie" Crabtree Bass; daughter, Pam Slaughter; sons, Kenny Bass, Steve Bass, and Roger Bass; and sisters, Nancy Beck, Mildred Massengill and Janice Hobbs.Funeral services will be held Monday 11 a.m. in Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Tabor United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Mary Sue Parrish, P.O. Box 76, Bahama, North Carolina 27503.
