Charles W. Bass Dies Here Today
Charles Washington Bass, 62, died at 9:45 a.m. today at his home at 611 Union Street after being confined in his home for the past month because of ill health. A native of Sampson County, Mr. Bass came to Greensboro from Greenville 16 years ago and had been connected with the White Oak mills for the past three years. He was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Lenora Wyatt; four sons, James E. and Major Bass, of Greensboro, Joseph A., of Norfolk, Virginia, and Otis W. Bass, of Aberdeen, Maryland; one daughter, Mrs. Opal Denny, of Greensboro; three brothers, F.K. Bass, of Washington, Welly Bass, Rocky Mount, and Kelly Bass of Wilson; one sister, Mrs. J.A. Tart, Washington; one grandchild. They body will remain at Hanes Funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of out of town relatives.
