James Bachman
Passed away peacefully at Willow Commons Assisted Living, Van Buren Township, MI, with his loving bride, Bernice (Bassett) by his side. Born in Adrian, MI, to the late Levi W. and Bessie M. Clark. He married Bernice (Bassett) on November 23, 1941 and together they had six children; James (Julie) of Hiawatha, KS, Peggy (Jim) Shaffer of Clarklake, MI, Jerry (Lois) of Belleville, Barb Tompkins of Belleville, Dan (Debbie) of Tombstone, AZ. James is survived by 27 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Bonnie Horton of Britton, MI. Preceded in death by one son, David along with 10 siblings. James was a proud Army Veteran and upon his discharge, he worked until he retired from Ford Motor Company-Sheldon Road Plant. He worked an additional 10 years at Meijer. Outside of enjoying family time and adoring the grandchildren, he liked gardening and farming with his father, in his youth. He was devoted to his Lord and enjoyed fellowshiping at Cornerstone Baptist Church, Ypsilanti. The family will receive guests on Sunday and Monday from 2-8 p.m. with a funeral on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home, Belleville with Rev. Painter officiating. Interment following at Mt. Hope Memorial Gardens, Livonia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, Ypsilanti, MI. davidcbrownfh.com.
