Dorothy Mae Allen Bass, 82, died Monday at Avante of Wilson.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mount Nelson Baptist Church in Eureka, where she was a member. The Reverend Pete Bass and the Reverend Robbie Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in the Eureka Cemetery.
Mrs. Bass was born in Wayne County and was the daughter of the late Devied and Mary Frances Wells Allen.
She is survived by one son, James Earl Bass of Goldsboro; three daughters and their husbands, Frances and George Eder of Hayes, Virginia, Rose and Larry Hoch of Marion and Brenda and Andy Cox of the Nahunta community; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Clay Bass Jr.; one son, Kenneth Ray Bass; two brothers, Norman Allen and Thurman Allen; two sisters, Maggie Bailey and Katie Windham; and a grandson, Steven Eder.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at the home of Brenda and Andy Cox, 3026 Highway 581 North, Fremont.
