      Mrs. Ruth P. Bass
      Hartsville - Mrs. Ruth Polson Bass, 78, widow of Hood Bass, died Sunday.
      Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Murdock Wesley and Rachel Outlaw Polson. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and served as church pianist. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 91, a past Worthy Matron and a charter member of the Home and Garden Club. She was a retired dietitian from Coker College.
      Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Billy (Belva) Burch of Hartsville, and a grandson, Hal Burch of Tennessee.
      Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
      Memorials may be made to the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery Fence Fund.
      Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is in charge.
