Bessette-LaVoie
Mr. Moses E. Bessette, son of Moses Bessette and Miss Lucia May LaVoie, of Malone, were married at Notre Dame church by Rev. Father Desmit at six o’[clock. A M. Washington’s birthday. The altar was handsomely decoreated with flowers and Mr. Cassie St. Mary and Miss Cornelia Bessette, sister of the groom, stood with the happy couple as best man and bridesmaid. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. Antoine Wood. A wedding breakfast followed the ceremony at the home of the groom’s parents and bride and groom took the early train for Springfield, Holyoke, Boston and other eastern cities to be absent about a fortnight.
Mr. Bessette is a young man of character and promise who is a machinist at the Rutland R.R. shops and his bride is a young woman of many charms whose friends are legion among her associates. The happy couple will reside in Malone. They were tendered a wedding shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bessette last Friday evening, at which there were 75 guests and they were presented with a very handsome center table from all the guests. The bride, who was formerly employed by J.O. Ballard & Co., was presented with silver knives, forks and spoons, by the girls who are employed by the company. Refreshments were served and the evening was passed with games and music, all present having a most enjoyable time.
