Lois Nadine Jones Bass
Lois Nadine (Jones) Bass, 88, of Wichita, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Via Christi St. Francis in the loving care of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
Lois was born to Cecil Author Jones and Zua Ellen (Flickinger) Jones Long on October 7, 1921 in Iola, Kansas. Lois lived in Augusta for a number of years before moving to Wichita to live with her daughter.
On September 10, 1941, she married Roy Everett Bass in Miami, Oklahoma.
Lois was a mother, tending to the home and her family as the children grew up. She was a member of the First Church of God in Augusta and after moving to Wichita attended the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church with her daughter, Rita.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, and a brother Quentin Jones. Lois leaves to mourn her passing her sons, Ronald (Judy) Bass and Jerry (Jean) Bass, all of Shell Knob, Missouri; daughter, Rita (Bobby) Fife of Wichita; six grandchildren, Jeff (Kari) Bass of California; Gerie Bass of Wellington, Kansas; Wendy (Sean) Browning of Willard, Missouri; Robert (Alta) Richey; Angela Richey; Alisha Fife, all of Wichita; and seven great-grandchildren, Cherish and Ella Bass; Michael Spies; Ashli and Luke Browning; R.J., Persayus, and Pandora Richey.
A graveside service will be held at Cottonwood Cemetery west of Emporia, Kansas on Monday, June 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m..
A memorial has been established with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in care of the funeral home, Dunsford-Zeiner of Augusta.
