MILTON-FREEWATER - Walter L. Bass, 83, of Milton-Freewater died Monday, May 12, 2008, at the Evergreen Rehabilitation and Retirement Center in Milton-Freewater.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home.
Private inurnment will be held at the Milton-Freewater Cemetery.
Mr. Bass was born May 20, 1924, in Idabelle, Okla. ,to Soloman L. and May Belle Hutchins Bass. He grew up and attended school in Oklahoma. He worked at different occupations, but mainly he was self-employed in roof repair. He enjoyed reading, fishing, dancing, horses and rodeos, and was a member of the Eagles, Elks and Moose lodges.
Mr. Bass is survived by daughter Debi Kraft of Nampa, Idaho; sister Jessie Bass of Salem; sister-in-law Theresa Bass of Milton-Freewater; two grand- children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Samuel, William, Charlie and Mack Bass; and sister Hazel Morrison.
