BASSETT, Clarence William Sr., of Chesterfield, departed this life May 11, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Goldie Bassett; sister, Kimberly Bassett.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Bassett; children, Sheena Benton (Gregory), Clarence Bassett Jr. (Pamela) and Zubaidah Allen (Kahlil); three grandchildren; siblings (all devoted), Arletha Gilliam, Joyce Lewis (Timothy), Louise Bassett, Juanita Harvey (Mack), Cathy Branch (David), Goldie Miller, Robert Bassett Jr. (Dimple), Betty Shelton (Gary) and Sandra Walton (Melvin); one uncle, two aunts, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Remains rest at Mimms Funeral Home, 1827 Hull St., where the family will receive friends Wednesday (today) from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 17, 11 a.m. at Brown Grove Baptist Church, 12816 Bailey Bridge Road, Midlothian. Rev. Andrew Carey, pastor. Interment church cemetery.
