A Private Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church in Newcastle, NE with Rev. Andrew Sohm officiating and Rev. Tom Bauwens concelebrating. Francis was born on September 10, 1922 in Hartington, NE to Grover George and Winifred (Maun) Bass. He graduated from Laurel High School in 1940. When Francis had time, he enjoyed traveling to Rome and Mexico. He also enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Marquette Council, Iowa City, IA and 4th Degree Larces Assembly, Davenport, IA. He is survived by his nieces and nephews. Francis was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
