Marriages
On Wednesday, January 4, at the lovely home of Mr. W.A. Bass of Devereaux, occurred the marriage of Mr. E.E. Bass of this city and Miss Bessie Bass, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Bass. It was a quiet home wedding, but many friends of the contracting parties gathered to see the ceremony performed. The house was beautifully decorated with flowers and evergreens, and at the appointed time the couple walked into the parlor and were made man and wife, Reverend J.R. King performing the ceremony, after which those present were ushered into the dining room, where a sumptuous dinner awaited them. The bride and groom arrived in the city on the 3:30 train and are at home to their many friends at the home of Dr. J.W. Manning. Mr. Bass is the senior partner of the big dry goods firm of E.E. Bass & Brothers of this city, and his bride is the only child of Mr. and Mrs. M.A. Bass of Devereaux, and they both have scores of friends all over the state who waft them congratulations. They were the recipients of many presents.
