MATTOON — Josephine J. Arnholt, 100, of Mattoon, passed away peacefully at 10:36 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2010, at Brookstone Estates.Josephine was born Sept. 3, 1910, the daughter of John and Anna (Schultz) Zillman.She married George Arnholt on March 14, 1935. He preceded her in death on Oct. 26, 1993.She is survived by her sons, James Arnholt and wife, Racheline, of Mattoon and Dr. Philip Arnholt and wife, Karen, of Mequon, Wis.; her grandchildren, Robert Arnholt and wife, Sherri, of Mattoon, Mark Arnholt and wife, Amy, of Hartford, Wis., Cheryl Aceto and husband, Steve, of San Antonio, Texas, Beth Arnholt of Schaumburg and Laura Adameak and husband, Ryan, of Sheboygan, Wis.; her great-grandchildren, Tyler and Trevor Arnholt of Mattoon, Marco Aceto of San Antonio, Texas, Sam and Abby Lynn Arnholt of Hartford, Wis., and Cole, Seth and Owen Adameak of Sheboygan, Wis.She was preceded in death by her husband; her sister, Ruth Davis; brother, John Zillman; and great-granddaughter, Rachel Sagan.Mrs. Arnholt was a member of Hubbard Trail Country Club, Hoopeston Hospital Auxiliary, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and Dorcas Society at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. In her younger years, Josephine loved to play golf and bridge, but she loved to spend time with her family most of all.Funeral services honoring her life will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 302 N. Market St., Hoopeston, with Rev. James Batchelor. Burial will follow in the Sunset Cemetery in Danville. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday at the church. The Schilling Funeral Home, 1301 Charleston Ave., Mattoon, is in charge of arrangements.Memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Hoopeston Hospital Auxiliary.
