Donna Rae Bassett
BASSETT, DONNA RAE Donna Rae Geissler Bassett, 66, of North Haven, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 11, 2015 with her family by her side. She was the wife of Francis ?Wally? Bassett. Donna was born in New Haven on April 27, 1949; daughter of the late Raymond and Alice M. Jorgensen Geissler. She enjoyed life as a homemaker and loved being surrounded by her grandchildren. She was a member of ?Danish Sisterhood of America? for 50 years and also loved her animals, camping and gardening. Mother of Craig W. (Sandra) Bassett, Kimberly D. Leyerzapf and Christopher D. (Jessica) Bassett. Grandmother of Kayla, Kevin, Carson, Taryn, Pierce, Makenzie and Mitchell. Sister of her twin Donald R. Geissler. Predeceased by her brother, Richard Geissler. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted in the North Haven Congregational Church on Monday morning at 10:00. Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery. The visiting hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. www.northhavenfuneral.com.
