Eva M. Bassett
Eva M. Bassett, 89, of 60 Freeborn Ave., died yesterday at home. She was the widow of Alton C. Bassett.
Born in Norwalk, Conn., a daughter of the late Charles and Harriet (Hunt) Hoyt, she lived in East Providence for 70 years.
Mrs. Bassett was a member of Haven United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Unity Lodge 14, Riverside.
She leaves a son, Earle H. Bassett of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. V. Norma Ryer of East Providence; a brother, Horace N. Hoyt, also of East Providence; four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the J. H. Williams and Co. Funeral Home, 210 Taunton Ave. Burial will be in the Village Cemetery, Rehoboth.
