- Will of Andrew Bass
In the name of God amen I Andrew Bass of the state of North Carolina and Sampson county being sick and weak of body but of a sound and perfect mind and memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God for the same therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do you make and ordain this my last will and testament in manet and form following that is to say First and premise fully I recommend my soul into the hands of the Almighty God that give it Hoping through the merits death and (pation?- passion) of my blessed Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to have Full and free pardon for all my sins and my body committed to the earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named and what worldly goods and estates it hath pleased God to bestow upon me here in this life I give and devise as follows, First I will that my just debts be paid, discharged, (lines with damaged words ?debts? and ?funeral? visible).
Item - the Remainder of My Estate I give and to My honoured and we?ll beloved Mother Elisabeth Bass for her proper use -
My will and desire is that William Bass and Burrell Bass should be my Executors this 18th Day of August in the year of our Lord 1786 -
