Golden Wedding

Pana, Ill., Oct 6.- The golden wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Guilford Bass was celebrated Wednesday. Many relatives were there ant he Bass home presented a brilliant site. Many presents were received. The home was handsomely decorated with potted plants and a grand time was indulged by all present.
A dinner was served, over 100 guests partaking.

Taylorville, Ill., Feb. 23. ? Mrs. Mattie Whitmer of Edinburg has received word of the death of her father, Guildford Bass, which occurred at Ramsey. The decedent was 72 years of age His widow and seven children are surviving.

Pana, Ill., Feb. 19. ? Guilford Bass, aged 74 years, died at his home in Oconee on Saturday morning at 5 o?clock following a oingering illness from heart trouble. Decedent was born near Ramsey, Ill., on September 26, 1835, and had been a resident of Shelby and Fayette counties during his entire life. He is survived by his wife, six sons, and three daughters; two brothers also survive, Elijah, of Hampton, Ill., and Frances, of Sedalia,Mo. Mr. Bass in religion was a Baptist, and for many years a leader in church work in the community in which he lived so long. He was a prosperous farmer, an honored citiztn, and stood high in the community. The funeral services will take place from the Baptist church in Oconee on Sunday afternoon at 2 o?clock, the pastor, Rev. J. M. Griggs. officiating. Interment will take place at Oconee cemetery.

Was a Resident of Oconee Almost Since His Birth
Pana, Feb. 21 ? The funeral of Guilford Bass, aged 74 years, who died on Saturday, took place Sunday afternoon from the First Baptist church at Oconee. The services were in charge of Rev. Mr. Griggs, and interment took palce at the Ocnoee cemetery.
Mr. bass was born near Rarmsey in 1835 and has been a resident of Oconee almost since his birth. He is survived by his wife, six daughters and three sons. Two brothers also survive, one Elijah Bass, of Hampton, Ill, he being very ill at this time and not expected to live.
