Description: I descend from Theophilus Bass and wife Rachel Vinson. Their children are Ezekiel Bass 1776, John, Etheldred, Ann, Polly, Harty.
My information comes from the following:
The deed dividing Theophilus' estate is in Deed Book M, page 380, Wilson Co TN, dated 30 Dec 1828. It was divided:
Lot 1 to Etheldree Bass, 16 acres 8 quarter
Lot 2 to John Bas, 2 1/2 acres
Lot 3 to heirs of Ann Briegits, 37 1/2 acres
Lot 4 to Ezekiel Bass, 20 1/2 acres
Lot 5 to John Edwards for 37 acres [he married Polly Bass]
Lot 6 to Harty Odom married to Moses Odom
1828: Heirs of Theophilus Bass appear in Wilson County Tax Lists within Captain Barkley's Company. Richard, Etheldred, Ezekiel, John, John D., Archamek, Sion Bass, and John Edwards (husband of Polly Bass) are within the same Company &, therefore, the same geographic location. 1828-1829: There was a December 1828 court order to divide the land of ilus Bass, dec'd. Division registered 18 May 1829. Tract #1, 16-1/4 acres to Etheldred BASS; tract #2, 26-1/2 to John BASS; tract #3, 37-1/2 acres to heirs of Ann BRIDGES; tract #4, 20-1/2 acres to Ezekiel BASS; tract #5, 37 acres to John EDWARDS; tract #6, 33 acres to Harty ODAM. No waterways are mentioned in this partition. Total acreage equals 170.75 acreas. (Wilson County Deed Book M, p. 380-381)
