SHELBYVILLE, February 28.-Some ten days ago Charles Shull, of Nebraska, formerly a resident of this county, came back hero for the purpose of getting married to Miss Lizzie Bass, daughter of Jordan Bass, a prominent farmer of Marion township.
Last night the young man concluded he would drive out to see his intended bride, thinking the wedding was set for Thursday, March 5th. As he approached the young lady?s home he saw the house brilliantly lighted, the rooms thronged with guests and an elegant wedding supper in preparation. Somewhat amazed, and fearing that the fair lady had gone off with a handsomer man, Shull excitedly asked what was going on, when he was answered that this was the night of his marriage to Miss Bass.
The prospective groom was dumb-founded and said he thought the wedding was next week.
Not willing to mar the occasion, Shull hastened to town, procured a license, hired a minister, and at 10 o?clock he was married.
