Lois Keller
Lois B. Keller, age 78, of Burdett, New York, passed away peacefully at home January 31, 2007. There are no prior visiting hours. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007, at the Burdett Presbyterian Church, Burdett, New York; Pastor Richard K. Evans officiating; with interment at a later date at Lake View Cemetery in Interlaken, New York. Arrangements by Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, Watkins Glen. She is survived by her four children, son, Walter Christian Keller II of Watkins Glen; daughter, Gretchen Ann Barr (husband Marc and son, Sasha) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; son, Henry Bassett Keller (wife, Janice and daughters, Samantha and Liesl) of Fort Jackson, New York; and son, John Frank Keller (wife Margaret) of Burdett; brothers and sister, John Thomas Bassett (wife Hester) of Leonard, Texas; Mary Alta Day (husband Henry) of Aromas, California; Betty Jane Calhoun (husband Charles) of Valois; and Frank Wheeler Bassett (wife Lillian) of Russell, New York. She was predeceased by parents, Henry Green Bassett and Ethel (Middaugh) Bassett; and husband, Walter E. Keller on March 25, 2003. She earned an MA in English at the New York State College for Teachers at Albany, New York. After living with her husband in Oceanside, Long Island, New York for 25 years, they moved to Watkins Glen, where together they owned the local H&R Block franchise in Watkins Glen and Jacksonville for twelve years. Lois was a member and organist for the Burdett Presbyterian Church for over 25 years, and taught piano her entire life.
