Marlette J. Bassitt
LIMA ? Marlette J. Bassitt, 78, died at 5:40 p.m. Aug. 17, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System Emergency Room.
She was born on April 2, 1935, in Van Wert to Sherman and Beulah Jenkins Barber, who preceded her in death. On April 2, 1954, she married Max Bassitt, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Bassitt enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her dog, Toby, who had passed before her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and she will be deeply missed.
Survivors also include two daughters, Teresa (Todd) Zapp, of Lima, and Dianna Bassitt; a sister, Eloise (Lester) Miley, of Columbus Grove; two granddaughters, Angela (Steve) Bartholemew and Penny (Tony) Paline; a grandson, William "Max" Warner; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law, Ralph Rayburn.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Rose Rayburn.
Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Children-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Pastor Jerry Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
