Jack F. Bassett
Jack F. Bassett, 85, Sarasota, died March 15, 2003. He was born Oct. 2, 1917, in Wheeling, W.Va., and came to Sarasota this year from West Palm Beach. He had lived in Sarasota from 1960 to 1970. He retired as a jeweler and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a Catholic. Survivors include sons Larry of St. Petersburg and Mark of Sarasota; sisters Anita Canary and Betty, both of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Bill of Kokomo, Ind.; four grandchildren; and egith great-grandchildren. Services will be private. Packer Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Florida, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.

BASSETT, Jack F., 85, of West Palm Beach, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (March 15, 2003) at Manor Care Nursing Home, Sarasota. Born in Wheeling, W. Va., he came here in 1952 from Kokomo, Ind., and later West Palm Beach. He was a retired salesperson with Maas Brothers and area jewelers. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in Burma and India. He was Catholic. Survivors include two sons, Larry, St. Petersburg, and Mark, Sarasota; two sisters, Anita Canary and Betty Bassett, both of Columbus, Ohio; a brother, Bill, Kokomo; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
