  Notes	Sir John married Johanna or Joan Brailsford (abt 1370) who was the dtr and heir of Henry de Braylsford (Knight) by the sister and heir of Hugh Audley, Lord of Blore & Grendon. John was knighted in 1370. This union produced three children Edmund, Thomas who was Thomas of Braylsford (1371) (went on to marry Joan, dtr of Sir Ralph Shirley (Knight) and Rafe b1375 who married Maud Beke in abt 1405. It is this marriage that produced Ralfe Bassett b1405 who marries Margaret (Maud) (widow of Thomasina Dethik, holder of the manor in Hints) . This marriage produces our first William Bassett b1436 of Blore. who in turn marries Joan Byron in 1472 and it is this union that not only produces the second William Bassett b1473 of Blore but also his brother 'our' Thomas Bassett b1475 who was given Hints. Note Hints had been added to the Bassett holdings by the union of Ralfe Bassett and Maud Dethik widow of Thomasina Dethik so it was clear that Thomas Bassett b1475 would become the logical holder of Hints with his brother William b 1473 continuing to hold Blore Phil Bassett
